I'm starting a new home based business and can't think of a name. I make and sell bowling shirts. Right now the leader is Custom Deluxe Bowling Shirts. Any better ideas? If I pick your name I'll send you a shirt next year.

    Here’s some suggestions:

    1. Jeremy’s Custom Made Bowling Shirts

    2. Jeremy’s Custom Bowling Shirts

    3. Jeremy’s Custom Tailor Shop

    4. Jeremy’s Tailor Shop

    5. Bowling Shirts by Jeremy

    6. Custom Bowling Shirts by Jeremy

    7. Deluxe Bowling Shirts by Jeremy

    8. Custom Deluxe Bowling Shirts by Jeremy

    9. Jeremy’s Custom Deluxe Bowling Shirts

    10. Jeremy's Bowling Shirts

PS #1: I’ve owned a shop with my first name in the title for over 7 years, and my wife’s owned a shop with her first name in the title for over 10 years. We find that it adds a sense of integrity & pride to the business.

When your name is in the title, people feel like they are going to get the quality service they desire when they are speaking with the owner.

PS #2: If someone besides yourself is actually doing most of the tailoring, you could substitute their name for “Jeremy” in the title, rather than using the name of the person financing the operation. If you have a nickname use it rather than a formal name. My wife and I both use our nicknames in the titles.

    Jay Taylor

    Bill,
Is Al's Toy Barn a store for sex toys?
In Oklahoma City we have Christie's Toy Box stores all over town. I've always wanted to see her in person but maybe that's not a good idea. She's probably 90 years old by now! [IMG]

I assume you know what a "turkey" is to a bowler.

I wasn't expecting so many replies to quickly.

Although your reasoning is good, I feel uncomfortable putting my name in the name. I do everything myself in regards to the tailoring but everytime somebody recommends I use my name it makes me feel wierd. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I'm a recluse; the bowling alley is my single exception (other than work).

Keep them coming. I especially like things that are bowlingy or have a retro feel.

    Jeremy,

Especially since you are making an article of clothing, I'd think it would be highly recommendable to use your name in the company. People almost expect that clothing should carry the designers name. Just a thought.

    '300' Shirts

    '5th Frame Co.'

Don't limit your title to only bowling shirts. You never know when you may want to expand.

'J.I. Sports Apparal' or 'J.I. Sports'

A lot of times having the owner's name in the company name just feels "small time"... if I wanted bowling shirts and looked in the phone book, I'd pick "Custom Bowling Shirts" before "Jeremy's Custom Bowling Shirts". Maybe that's just me.
    How about... uh... hmmm...
Bowl In Style - Deluxe Bowling Shirts
    or
    Pin Clothes
Well, I suck at this.... [IMG]
