Wondering if someone can provide me with some help. I recently installed a 12v DC 3inch fan in my home theatre cabinet. The problem i have is that is runs constantly. I want to add a thermostat to trun the fan on and off but need some recommendation as to a brand which i can use. Also if possible where can I get it at i,e, Home Depot.

    thanks Dave

Yeah - someone said they found a thermostat for an attic fan at Home Depot that they used - check it out.

if your receiver has an outlet, you could plug it into that and when you turn on your receiver, on comes the fan. that's what i did at least.

    A couple of comments:

I was going to do the same thing, but my pre-pro (Lexicon MC-12) seems to dissipate a lot of power in off (standby) mode. I decided to leave the fan on all of the time.

There is a neat little project for thermostat-controlled 12V fan on Rod Elliott's website
