Need help building a system under 1000 (1 Viewer)

I am looking to spend 500 on reciever and 500 on speakers im looking for a 6.1 reciever does anyone have any suggestions?

The Onkyo SR 600 immediately comes to mind for a receiver. That's what I have. I like it alot. It's a great value. Yamaha also has the RX V630 at this price point. It has pre-outs.

I'm not sure of any speakers at this price point. I know JBL has the N-series.

is 410 a good price for the yamaha? it sounds good for my needs and the component inputs is a plus

The 600 has component inputs, the Yamaha has pre-outs that could be helpful if you want to upgrage power to the mains.

$410 sound very good for the 630.
