So the time has come to get a new sound setup for our fraternity. We currently have two JBL MR-825s powered by a 300x2 RMS watt Pyle amp. Additionally we have two EV ZLX-12ps. The EVs are great for a small parties but just don't cut it for the majority of events we have. The MR 825s get loud but lack low end and warmth. I'm either looking to optimize one of the two setups we have now (with a sub/better amp), or start from scratch. We need speakers that can play loud with powerful bass for crowds of 20-200 indoors and 200+ outdoors during football season. They need to be reliable and durable. Ideally the new system would provide adequate bass for party music without a sub. The lower the cost the better, however, we want to do it correctly. So in summary:
-Looking for a new system
-Currently have a Pyle 300wrms amp powering 2 JBL Mr-825s and 2 self powered EV ZLX 12ps
-For crowds of 20-200 indoors and 200+ outdoors
-Add a sub/better amp to what we currently own or start fresh?
-Would prefer a full range system without a sub if we start fresh with an entirely new system
What are everyone's thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
-Nick
