I was considering a 65 inch mitsu for my 20x15 family room but the guy at abc warehouse thinks I should go with a 55 inch because a 65 is too big(so does my wife). Is there a formula or something that would help me determine or maybe someone who has experience with this can give me a pointer.

    thank you

Well technically you could put that TV in that room, but would it overpower the room? What I did to determine this was to make a cardboard mock up of the TV so you can see how far away from the wall it's going to be and just how big the box is going to be in your room. Then make something to show how big the screen is. Sit down and see if that's too much. The TV's tend to grow when you get them home [IMG]
What I realized is that "fitting" and balanced are 2 different things. Though technically the size TV I wanted would have fit, The room would have tipped over.
