Randy, I think you need to list what you want in a player as well as the pricing. Do you need progressive scan? Do you want a single or multi-disc changer? Do you want DVD-A or SACD? ,etc.

For a low cost, cheap DVD player I would recommend the Toshiba 2800. Works well and is slim in design. I use it for my player in my bedroom which doesn't have any receiver hooked to it.

My downstairs player in my theater is a Panasonic RP91 which is pretty kick ass in my opinion. Progressive scan and DVD-A.

Toshiba 4700 is a very solid progressive scan player with DVD-A. You can find it for about $200.

    Thanks for the recommendations!

The Toshiba looks very intersting and I have heard good things about that particular panasonic. Way too many choices out there.

Chris, strange, I have been humming that Dave Matthews song all day today and it is magically in your sig?? Bizarre

    Hi Randy,
I just saw this post of yours about dvd players. I have a Sony DVP-NS500V and I've been very pleased with it. This player also has SACD capability. I bought mine last year for about $240, but I saw where Crutchfield has them for $180 now. An internet search would probably turn up even lower prices.

    Randy,

You might be interested in the Sony DVP-NS755V.
    It plays DVD/CD/SACD/audio CDR & CDRW/MP3 CDs.
It is progressive, Dolby Digital and dts decoding are built in.

SRP about $300, Crutchfield has it for $250,OneCall.com has it (until 9/30/02) for $224. I ordered from them for a total of $255.40 including 3-day shipping and tax.
