Need Chinese film name (1 Viewer)

Hi all, I'm trying to find a film I saw years ago filmed in China. It's about a girl who's father is a seamstress, and the girl is being shipped out to the boon-docks because of some funky government thing.

She gets sent out thinking that she's going because everyone loves her, but ends up being put with an older guy that rumor has it had his manhood chopped off.
They herd cattle or something like that, and she ends up getting food in exchange for letting military men come have sex with her.

It ends with her getting pregnant and I believe killing herself, course it has been a while.

Any ideas?

You're thinking of Xiu Xiu by Joan Chen. If I recall, Chen had great difficulty getting the film made, against government wishes. She shot it secretly across China and had to often send out footage to friends/colloborators for safe keeping for fear of discovery and confusication.
