Some how I’ve picked up some ad-ware on my PC at work. I’m getting occassional pop up’s and shortcuts left on my desk top. Our administrator has installed and ran Ad-Aware SE on my local drives and on my network profile. We are now also running Ad-Watch SE in the back ground. But, with Ad-Watch, when I click on the “Activate pop-up blocker” button it kills all open Internet Explorer browsers and it won’t let me re-open any new browsers ones. My administrator doesn’t know what else to do. Any feedback? Any freeware suggestions?

    Win2000Pro version 5.0(build 2195:Service Pack 4)

This has worked great for me

    Microsoft Anti-Spyware

It runs real-time, notifies you of changes and will schedule itself at 2:00 a.m.

The obvious suggestion... use a non-Microsoft browser like Firefox or Opera. If the company won't let you or if you just refuse, then that's not a valid option.

    Some excellent anti-spyware tools here:

At least hijackthis can damage your system if you know not what you do, so get that administrator in on it.

get spywareblaster and you will have no more problems. Also see if your administrator will allow alternate browsers, Everything targets Internet Explorer, without spyware blaster there isnt much you can do.
