    Hey Everyone,
My friend is looking for a new HT speaker package. Due to the WAF they need to be small speakers w/sub. Can anyone reccomend a speaker package w/small spaekers and a sub that sounds good? Price limit is $1000. Any suggestions will be welcome. Thanks in advance.

    Energy Take 5.2.
I have the original Take 5 and I love it. The 5.3 is a good improvment.
    I hope it helps

Lots of good small speaker packages in that price range. Definitive Technology, Paradigm, Klipsch, Energy (as mentioned above), Axiom, RBH, Polk, etc. You'll probably have to get out and listen to a few of them to decide. Best of luck.

Checkout the energy encores. They list for $1500 but if you do a search on yahoo shopping you can find them for lower.

    Dalton,
I happen to have a terrific 5.1 system for sale that is in LIKE NEW condition and performs like systems costing much, much more! You can check it out at this link http://www.hometheaterforum.com/uub/...ML/002836.html
I noticed you live in Rhode Island and I live on Long Island in New York. If you were interested I would be willing to maybe arrange delivery to you as the sub weighs 50 lbs. or so. If you have any questions you can e-mail me.
This system is a real performer and can handle 150 watts rms, you would not be dissapointed!
    Regards,
    Glenn

I vote for Energy 5.2 (I have the one with the 8" sub). I bought it based on everyone's recommendations from HTF. I love this system - sounds great, can take some real abuse, and very inexpensive. I bought mine for $580 with sub.

www.hometheaterdirect.com -- Their Level 3 bookshelf set is pretty damn sweet and comes in well under your $1000 budget.

I suggest you take a look at PSB Image speakers . They are very efficient (91-92db) and have a wide, clear soundstage.
You could get one of the following combinations for about $1K:
    3LR / 8C / 1B / Sony SAW-M40 subwoofer
    4T / 8C / 1B / Sony SAW-M40 subwoofer
    1B /8C / 1B / Adire Audio Rava subwoofer
If you have an old reciever that you could use as an amp, you could get an SVS Subwoofer (25-31CS or 20-39CS) instead of the Adire Audio Rava.
The PSB dealer in your area is:
    Lydecker & Co.
    525 Fair Street
