Hey all. I have a question about rigging a pseudo-7.1 system until i upgrade at a future date.
I have a 5.1 system right now, running off a kenwood vr-3080. I had my house wired for 7.1 surround and am currently only using 2 surrounds.
First, is it possible to take a 2 channel amp and run the other 2 surrounds?
If so, would I just connect the surround pre-outs from the receiver to the amp and then out to the speakers?
I know that the same sounds will be played through each surround channel, but I was hoping to use it more for filling the room than anything. Should this work?
Next, what are suggestions on an inexpensive 2-channel amp, say, running 100Wx2?? TIA
