Picked up a DAYTON 12" TITANIC SUBWOOFER 295-400 and 250 Watt amp on eBay. Have been looking at doing a sonotube. Most of the desings I see are for ported designs, and apparently this particular driver is more suited for a sealed setup.

This is going to be used in an HT environment exclusively, although I am thinking of building two of them, one for a buddy, and his setup will be music oriented.

Can anyone steer me to something I can use? Was thinking of using 18" sonotube, but am open. Don't want it to be TOO big. Was hoping it could be no more than 24" high or something close to that.

That woofer should be used sealed, PE recommends ~ 2.5ft^3. Since you know the diameter of the tube, the height requires simple geometry to figure out.

Go here for some on-line tools for volume and cutting calculations. Great stuff.
