I'm in the market for a RP widescreen TV...

Currently I'm going right from my dvd player's component out
to my Wega TV's component in, not using the Yamaha DD/DTS receiver for the video signal(only the audio).

Once I get an RPTV, I can do the same thing, correct? Or must I buy another receiver?

I'll also get a progressive scan dvd player in the future too.

You can connect all of the video cables directly from your DVD player to your new RPTV and use the audio out from the DVD player to the receiver as you have done before. When you go progressive, and as long as your new RPTV is a progressive scan TV and you select Prog Scan in the DVD menu, then you are all set.
