Been a LOONNGGG time since I've been here.

Anyway, my Mackie M1400 amp has taken a dump so I need a new amp. It's gonna power two subs so I need it to be high power in stereo, 4ohm . Say like 500W-800W plus.

I was thinkin another Mackie M1400 as the minimum but wonder what other popular options there are out there that might be a better choice and why. Only limitation is I can't have a loud ass fan. Thanks in advance!

    Terry,

I have had nothing but good luck with my crown k1. I know they aren't cheap but you can pick them up used for a very good price. I think I got my k1 for about $600 used. It has worked flawlessly since.

K1s are the bomb, I second that reccomendation, I am surprised your 1400 died. I have used (abused) them in a mobile DJ rig and they keep coming back for more. I use the Peavy 8.5c to drive my sub, it is AWESOME, the automatic limitor keeps things in check, it is a touch noisy but for $160 on ebay I'm not complaining.
