I am looking to replace a set of dual 4" with 3/4" tweeter kenwood speakers from the 505 HTiB. I was looking to see if anyone had any input on The Polk RTi6 or the Infinity Primus or Alpha bookshelfs. Or any other suggestions? I just need to know whats good in that price range(300-500)

What else are you currently using?
Is it all kenwood stuff?
Do you want floor standers or book shelf mains?

I want bookshelfs so they can be easily used at college. Yes the rest is all Kenwood. I want fronts that will have a lower frequency response than my current ones and have a higher overall quality of sound. I know this is subjective but I just need some input of which are good in general

So is the 300-500 on just the 2 front main speakers?

If so look at the following:
Axiom audio
Rockets(RS150 or Speakers from the ELT system)
NHT
Polk Audio
Def Tech
Paradigm

All of these companies make good Bookshelf speakers. Everyone likes different ones though.

anybody got any specific pairs that come highly recommended?

I am leaning towards the Polk RTi6 or the infinty Primus 160/alpha 20's

Go shopping, see what you like...there's an awful lot out there and you won't know what you like until you try.
