    I have a flyer I am trying to convert for posting on the web..and I am lost! Can anyone help this neophyte?

    RTF is rich text format. Any word processing program will read that.

    Both Word and Word Perfect also have options allowing you to save a document as a web page. Thus the easiest way is to just open up the document in your word processor, then do a save as a web page. You'll get a file that is in html code. Then if it needs some tweaking, you just edit the code.
