Colorado 55 Nebraska 30 with 11:00 minutes left in the game!
Sorry, but I hate Nebraska. Alright, hate is a bit too strong. Thank you for playing, Cornhuskers, but your national championship hopes have apparently come to a crashing halt regardless of this final outcome.
I do feel sorry for Chris Wittry - seriously! ;)

This is so sad to watch. I want them to play Miami in the Rose, but all I care about is the Gators do not make the Rose.

Does Nebraska have a football team? I seem to remember reading something about that. They're called the Ghostbusters or Cropdusters or Pornlusters or something stupid like that.

IMO, when you lose in a blowout like that you should have no chance for a shot at the National Championship. Now if the Gators will only lose one more game to setup a Miami - Oklahoma showdown...

Goodbye Cornhuskers. Thanks for playing. We have some lovely parting gifts for you.

If Miami gets by Washington, it will be the Hurricanes vs. either Florida or Oklahoma in Pasadena. The controversy over who plays Miami will be huge if Florida and Oklahoma win out.

I think that BYU should now get some more votes.

Undefeated is undefeated.

Hello everybody, well being a long time CU season ticket holder(18years)I am having a great day. Beating the Cornholers I mean huskers is such great fun.All you folks pulling for OK should slow down a little bit because the MIGHTY BUFFALOES are to be contended with. This sure put a wrench in the Bowl line up.If (when) the Buffs beat OK that puts the Buffs #1 in the Big 12, Ok,and and Conhuskers 3rd,Ha ha. What are you going to do then.;) as we say around here HUCK THE FUSKERS. GO CU Rich

This is serious, people. Nebraska losing a football came could cause the economy to dip further into recession.

Well, when the bulk of a state's economy seems to be centered around a college football team.....:)
I was in Colorado for thanksgiving, and people were ecstatic.

Well, Oklahoma just went down. That opens the door for Florida if they can beat Tennessee and win the SEC Championship game (neither is a gimmie, though). If the Gators falter, Texas is next in line, but they will have a tough game against Colorado. The next two weeks will be interesting.

I think that BYU should now get some more votes.

Undefeated is undefeated.
Sorry, but teams from small conferences should not get to the title game unless they beat some quality non-conference opponents. That may be a tough stance, but if you want to play in the bigtime, you need to play bigtime opponents.

Like many Yankee fans, I am amused by some fans making up for their own teams' inadequacies by hating the perennial powerhouses. :)

I actually like what I heard on ESPN radio today--I was driving back from my parents' house and listening to the ass-whoopin' that Miami was administering to the Huskies.

They suggested an eight team playoff, which consisted of the six major conference champions, and two wildcards (no mention of how they would be given out).

And yes, if you don't play anyone, it doesn't matter if you go 12-0. You have to play someone eventually. To do otherwise would punish those teams that go and get good non-conference opponents and/or are in good conferences. Do you realize that no one in the Big 12 is undefeated now? And I don't think BYU would finish 4th in that conference...

Why am I not surprised?;)
Of course, Miami may not get by VT. But the last two games against Syracuse and Washington have sold me on Miami.

College football is great, don't you think. All these rivalries and always an upset or two. The past few days have reminded us that nothing is a given, and all who wander into a specific place at a specific time may leave empty handed. Or worse.

Although I am a Tennessee fan, I watch all big games with an interest in seeing a good close game, that is exciting to watch. ie: Penn State and Mich State. good game.

Then you have the bashes. ie... Miami/Wash.

Then you have poor performances... Ohio State/ Mich. That was two extremely different halfs..... cudos to OSU for holding on.....

It is sad that the "powers that be" developed such a thing as the BCS that takes away the sportsmanship in college football and lends itself to "beat'em as bad as you can" attitude. Then you have these individual attitudes of the players that just takes more shine off the game.

But we college football fans will last it out and hope that some sort of playoff is in the near future.

Even so, with all the drawbacks, we college football fans will tune in every saturday in hopes of seeing an exciting game with a hope that our team wins in good fashion after a nail biter.....

Just to second John's response, I really can't imagine that Texas would end up ahead of a Tennessee team with only one loss, particularly since the win over Florida would be one of those prized BCS "quality wins," which would boost their rating considerably. Obviously, I'm a bit biased, but I'm starting to think that UT actually has a chance (though a very slim one) next week in Gainesville. I think it will all come down to UT's ability to establish a quality four-man pass rush. If they pressure Grossman, they have a chance; if not, he'll pick apart the Vols' weak secondary. UT definitely has the offense to keep up this year.

Of course, none of this will likely matter in the national championship. That Miami team is tough. After the last two weeks, FSU's 24-point loss isn't quite so embarrassing.

I'm surprised Nebraska only fell to 6th in the polls after their humiliating defeat. They should have fallen to at least 12th, behind Colorado, who administered the beating.

My Fighting Illini can theoretically win the national championship, but it will take a major miracle. (Starting with Miami losing to Virginia Tech...)

It was a sad, sad day indeed. I'm just glad that the defeat came after I had already eaten my final round of Thanksgiving leftovers, because after that beating I just lost my appetite. :D I was hoping that they could hold on, but they just didn't seem to have the big D going this season. I guess they just weren't as pumped up for Friday's game as they were for the game against Oklahoma. Oh well, what're you gonna do?

I feel the same way. In fact, many of those people that I know often admit to me that their hatred is just jealousy! :D

I'm beginning to think that Tennessee has a chance against Florida as well! Now that Donte is back, our receiving core is better than ever! It all depends on if Casey is on or off though, as I'm not too sure that Travis is going to be able to get it done on the ground.
It was a great weekend for college Football. First, the Huskers lose. Good riddance. Then, my Vols administer quite an ass-whoopin to Woody's boys. Then, Oklahoma... well,
It would have been perfect had Miami lost as well. But I guess we can't have everything. Oh well, here's to the Vols down in the Swamp next week!
