Amazing comeback by the Houston Cougars this evening against Duke. Houston has never won the National Title, something I hope they are able to reverse on Monday evening against a tough Florida Gators club.

I was disappointed about Auburn’s losing- I think their coach comes across as a good guy. 🙁

Congrats to the UCONN women for winning their 12th National Championship. It’s unbelievable that UCONN has won so many championships in both men and women basketball in just the last 30 years.

As a Duke hater, thank you Houston. Good luck on Monday.

It’s ironic how Houston made the plays at the end of Saturday’s game and then have Florida do the same against them last night.

Not only that, but in 1983 when NC State defeated Houston in the Finals, we had a much younger coach (Jim Valvano - 37 years old) defeat a much more experienced coach (Guy Lewis - 61 years of age). In last night's victory for the Gators, one of the youngest coaches (Todd Golden - 39 years old) defeated one of the most senior coaches (Kelvin Sampson - 69 years old). In the words of Mark Twain - "History doesn't repeat itself but it often rhymes."

Tough loss for Houston, but life goes on. The sun is up and a few birds are chirping outside.

Foolish is putting it mildly. Nuggets are 47-32, and in 4th place in the western conference. Easy to assume there were axes to grind within the brass, but to get rid of the coach and GM this close to the playoffs is asinine.

That Cleveland-Miami series was pitiful. Really great product you're putting out there, NBA.

Definitely not a good look that the Heat got beat this badly in a win or go home game.
Easy to accuse the team of quitting.

Losing your best player mid-season is going to put any team at a disadvantage. Facing the team with the best conference record isn't going to make it any easier. In the West the Thunder swept the Grizzlies. Both of the #1 seeds performed as advertised in the first round.

My Rockets have lost some close games and face elimination in game 5. I expect them to win when they return home and likely lose game 6.

It's not that the Heat lost, but the way they lost. Their negative 122-point differential is the largest in any NBA four-game sweep series.

Oh, I understand they got taken to the wood shed. I'm just saying that losing Butler put the team on the skids both psychologically and in terms of the quality of team they could field. Winning a play in spot for the Heat was a pyrrhic victory at best. They would've been better, in my estimation to have missed the playoffs and let Cleveland administer the beating to another club.

I am not excusing their performance, or lack thereof; they were pitiful. I am just talking about some of the contributing factors.

Miami Heat likes to brag about their so-called culture. They even have it labeled on their court while the Miami media and their fans like to brag about it. The rest of the NBA just rolls their eyes because the Heat try to act like they have a better winning culture than other teams. This beatdown and that horrible Butler situation suggests their culture isn't as pristine as they make it out to be.

There have been some blow-outs such as the Cleveland / Miami series, but there have also been some pretty close series with multiple games going down to the wire. Game 4 of Houston / Golden State, the entirety of the Nuggets / Clippers, and the NY Knicks / Detroit Pistons series have been very competitive and extremely entertaining.

The Aaron Gordon dunk at the end of game 4 of the Nuggets and Clippers was mathematically as close as you can be to the buzzer and win the game. Just an incredible play. In the MLB thread folks talk about one of kind occurrences in baseball, well this was the buzzer beater to beat all buzzer beaters in basketball.

At least that series, aside from the first game, was relatively competitive, with wins in the last three games decided by 19, 6, and 2 points. If Grizzlies could have won at least one of those, it seemed like they may have been getting things figured out.

Cleveland-Miami was just a joke. Closest was game two at 9 points, with the others decided by 21, 37, and 55. They just gave up.

The Grizzlies have better players than Miami. About three years ago, it was the Grizzlies that were on the verge of being what OKC is now until Morant's personal issues and massive injuries have derailed them. Them firing their HC just a couple of weeks left in the season didn't help either.
