The NBA is certainly being overshadowed by the 2024 World Series especially here in New York, but in case you missed it, the New York Knicks recovered nicely with a dominating victory at MSG last night against the Indiana Pacers.

Next up: Cleveland Cavaliers @ NY Knicks, Monday the 28th @ 8pm on the MSG Network.

With Major League Baseball completed the NBA now takes a front seat. On Wednesday the NY Knicks earned a hard fought victory in Miami against the Heat as Karl Anthony Towns poured in 44 points!

New Mavs Anthony Davis out for many weeks with an adductor strain injury from last night's game.

I wish Davis well, but it sort of feels like karma, after the Mavs shit-talked Luka for his lack of conditioning after the trade. Looking forward to Luka's first game tonight against the Jazz.

TBH, Luka’s lack of conditioning is a valid criticism. With that said, the Mavs continuing to bad mouth Luka is low down.

Luka has to get his shooting touch back as he was not connecting on his 3 pt. attempts. He can still throw the dimes though. Particularly liked his full court two hand pass to Lebron streaking to the rim for a layup. Looks like we have an idea of how Reddick will manage their play time. Together at the start of the game, then one on / one off and back to together at various times in the contest. Luka had 24 minutes of play time which is pretty decent for his first game since December.

Meanwhile in Dallas, multiple fans were ejected for protests related to the trade in the second half of the Mavs game with the Kings on Monday evening.

McClung seems to be the only one who puts any effort or imagination into his dunks. Most of the others couldn't even make a dunks. Mac made all of his on the first attempt. Didn't need any do-overs.

I wish they'd dump all the extraneous fluff. The music, the production pieces, Kevin Hart. Just awful. Just play the games and wrap it up in 90 minutes instead of a painful 3 hours.

Also it is nice to know there's at least one white guy in the NBA who defies gravity.

I'll likely sound like an old guy by saying this, but they gotta have all the rap music for the young viewers. Certainly the likes of a Kevin Hart is replaceable. I actually enjoyed the new format until the final round. There was far more defense and energy. The previous format had gotten so out of hand with all offense and no defense it had become unwatchable imo.

Thing that annoyed me the most was the guy announcing all the players growling his way through every word. I was hoping he'd blow out his vocal chords. But he didn't. What a freakin' headache!

This sort of pertains to this thread- I read that Duke’s Cooper Flagg is projected to be the first pick in the upcoming draft. Will watch him this afternoon in the tournament
(watching 9 Baylor out-work disheveled 8
Mississippi State right now).

Cooper Flagg has been impressive this season. He is a really versatile player who can defend, hit the three, play in the paint, and be a point forward. However, Duke has a lot more than just Flagg. They have a really good starting five and I like their chances to get to the Final Four. Alabama (in Duke's bracket) can play at a fast pace and put up a lot of points and will be the toughest team Duke potentially faces (inside their bracket.)

My Houston Cougars nearly doubled up SIUE yesterday 78 to 40 and I am looking forward to their matchup with Gonzaga this weekend. If they can get past Gonzaga (which I believe will happen) two seed Tennessee is lurking in their bracket.

Watching Flagg. This game will be a joke, much like Bambi v Godzilla. Flagg is a skinny 3 in the NBA. Not a typical 1 pick.
