Name That Movie (1 Viewer)

I'm trynig to remember a movie that I saw in my childhood. I can't really remember anything about the movie except that is was an adventure sort of movie, taking place in a jungle, and that one of the characters was a huge black guy, that had an enormous axe. I think they were treking through the jungle to save a village or something. I remember watching it on TV during the late 80s.

Wow, thanks! After looking at the reviews on IMDB, I think this may be one movie that I'll let sit in a happy childhood memory, and not try to watch it now.
