[c]Ladies and Gentelmen we have a winner

Using (highly) questionable tactics Brad Porter has managed to claim victory as the king of screenshots. Kevin Leonard made an astonishing sprint to claim the grand prize at the end, but came up short. Bill McA looked unstoppable in the begining but fumbled in the last few weeks of competition.

Here is how the final score card ended up.

1. Brad Porter 416
2. Kevin Leonard 408
3. Bill McA 391
4. Chucky P 279

I hope you all had fun. A question to those of you who were making fun of my taste/choice of movies in the begining half of the game. What did you think of my tastes after we switched over to my personal DVD's?

Thanks for playing everyone, see you over in John's game.

Thanks for the contest, Chris. This must be a weight off your shoulders. 6th place isn't bad, especially since I missed the first 30 rounds. I would have made 4th place, but no chance at all of getting higher than that.

Thanks for a fun contest. I only wish I had joined up earlier and not missed most of the rounds. :)

Great job Chris. :emoji_thumbsup:

First of all, outstanding contest Chris. It was mucho fun. :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:

Secondly, I rule! Bow down before me, minions. :D

Thirdly, here's a list of the films that I got right only by doing research on the shot contents:

Barbershop (5)
Gummo (5)
The Virgin Suicides (5)
Inspector Gadget (5)
The Majestic (7)
8 Mile (7)
The Wicker Man (5)
The Transporter (5)
The Adventures of Pluto Nash (5)
Tales of Ordinary Madness (7)
Phone Booth (5)
Still Crazy (5)

Here's the ones that I had a reasonable guess on and used research to help me confirm my guess (for some I've seen the film, some I haven't):

L.I.E. (5)
Blue Crush (5)
Autofocus (7)
Rabbit-Proof Fence (5)
Dark Blue (5)
Cube 2: Hypercube (5)
Moonlight Mile (5)
In the Mouth of Madness (5)
The New Guy (5)
City of Industry (7)

Here's the ones that I recognized from having seen the film or the trailer (I often checked the aspect ratio on IMDB to make sure I wasn't being fooled by a tricky shot, but I had the right film as my guess in each case):

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (5)
Reign of Fire (5)
Mad Max (5)
About A Boy (5)
Touch of Evil (5)
Doctor Zhivago (5)
River's Edge (7)
Titus (7)
K*19 The Widowmaker (5)
Uncle Buck (5)
The Time Machine (5)
Lost in La Mancha (5)
Road to Perdition (5)
The Count of Monte Cristo (5)
The Matrix (5)
The City of Lost Children (10)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (5)
Frailty (5)
Zoolander (5)
American Beauty (5)
Waiting for Guffman (5)
Amadeus (5)
Reservoir Dogs (7)
There's Something About Mary (5)
Mystery Men (5)
The Silence of the Lambs (5)
Amelie (5)
Office Space (5)
Spiderman (5)
Heavenly Creatures (5)
Pulp Fiction (5)
The Day the Earth Stood Still (5)
Miller's Crossing (5)
2001: A Space Odyssey (5)
Panic Room (5)
Almost Famous (5)
When Harry Met Sally (5)
High Fidelity (5)
A Fish Called Wanda (5)
The Patriot (5)
What Planet Are You From? (5)
Heathers (5)
The Great Escape (5)
The Godfather (5)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (5)
Se7en (5)
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (5)
Signs (5)
Cast Away (5)
The Fifth Element (5)
Jurassic Park (5)
Rushmore (5)
Memento (5)
The Sixth Sense (5)
Meet the Parents (5)
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (5)
A Few Good Men (5)
The Big Lebowski (5)

So even if you deduct the 66 points that I only got by using Google and IMDB, that still leaves me with 350 pts.

And kudos to Kevin for a valiant effort, but anybody that doesn't recognize The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly and The Big Lebowski deserves second place. :p)

Hey, even geniuses have their off days. :)

And in my defense on Round 150, I saw four films at the theaters yesterday and got home around midnight, so I didn't have much time to give the shot a good look.

Great contest, Chris! And since I travel to Berkeley on a weekly basis (it's a haven for arthouse theaters and diverse music stores), I might have bumped into you somewhere!

Kevin if you don't mind me asking where do you live?

You are right about Berkeley. I have 4 theaters within walking distance to my house and another 4 are just a short car trip away. Plus we have Amoeba and Rasputins for used DVD's and CD's :)

Chris: I live somewhere in Contra Costa County, and take BART for the Berkeley trips. Would those "4 theaters" be Shattuck, Act 1 & 2, UA Berkeley and California Theatre? Those are the exact ones I go to. :)

And Amoeba and Rasputin's does rule (we have a Rasputin's in Pleasant Hill, as well).

OUCH!

Oh by the way Chris, I could swear you used the same "In the Bedroom" shot for both of your contests, but I could be wrong. (Still not as bad as the Titus shot :D )

Thanks that was fun, and I think the lowest percentage I've gotten right on any contest to date :-/ I guess it would help if I checked this thing on the weekends a bit more often :)

Thanks again... till the next one!
