Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you ever heard of Dynasonic. I've looked everywhere for information about their Pl-160 speaker. Even the patients over at the Audio Asylum are dumbfounded it seems.

I discovered them reading through an old issue of AudioXpress. $320 for it sounds good, but I dont know if that's price for each, or anything else. The site is so damn vague...

They sell "spare" diaphrams for their speakers. Why does this make me think of them blowing easily :)

Yep it reeks of white van speaker quality.

I would avoid these. Stick with a known quality,

like NHT, Vandersteen, Paradigm, Energy, Meadowlark,

JBL, Klipsh, Theil, Definitive, Mirage, Martin Logan,

Magnapan, Dunlavy, BIC. The list goes on almost for ever

there are many good inexpensive speakers out there. There

just no sense in buying garbage from a no name outfit, of

dubious charactor. I find that the companys that try

to use other peoples names for there company are most likly

to be selling junk. For example Rockford(a real company)and

Kenwood (a real company) vs Rockwood and Kenford (bogus companies).

I doubt it Phil, I don't see a magazine like AudioXpress letting ads from a possibly bogus company take up at least two ad spots in its magazine.

But...

Although suspicious, we shouldn't be quick to pounce on them either. Worth checking out. Anyone here live in Athens?

Btw, what's up with Nuance? My buddy has a full set of Nuance and he says it's pretty good. I've yet to hear them myself. Are they a rip-off brand? I had my doubts as I've never heard anyone even mention Nuance on the HTR (until now of course).

Nuance makes crapy speaker for very high prices. They sometimes sell them for less, mabey throw in a fre DVD player, or a toaster oven. Many many cheep drivers on a decent enclosure. I had a $900.00 Nucance sub once, and my SOny minisystem put out more bass. (and yes, I knew what I was doing)
It's sad, sometimes, the owner of a nuance dealer really thinks there great!

I think before people open thier pie holes perhaps they

should check the web site. No it's not the best web site

design but they list all the measurements of drivers and

every other spec you want to see. The drivers look to be

VERY well constructed. As good as say, Scan Speak..

Go look for yourself before labeling these as "white van"

speakers, which obviously they are not.

How do you know they are well contructed? Because of the fancy desciptions in the exploded view?

I agree with John Sturge here. As a long time reader of Speaker Builder Magazine (now AudioXpress), I don't see them selling add space to anyone with check in hand like most mass market magazines.
You sure as hell won't see any Bose ads in there! :)
