ok got a new dvd player a jvc xv-n316 got dolby digtal and dts It says it supports 5.1.
outputs are scart, Left Right Composite, RGB Composite and a Digtal Coxial output.

now my speakers are Philips A3.610 (5.1 flat pannels) The inputs are
9 pin DIN (5.1) 3.5mm(i think) digtal input and Left Right Composite.

now i got my dvd player via the left and right composite but this on the speakers are only stero.

is it possible to go from my dvd player to my speakers making it 5.1?

    many thanks

    Paul

Paul, why no mention of your receiver? Is it Dolby Digital?
You should hook up your DVD's digital out to your receiver's digital in. Going from your DVD player to your speakers won't make it 5.1. Is this European equipment?
