After 20 years of analog cable attached to the tv, I have entered the digital cable world. My wife is not happy with the results to date. I have not successfully been able to get everything working in concert. All advice most welcomed. How do I best hook up the following equipment?
- Comcast HD digital cable box 6416 HDMI
- Humax Tivo series 2 dvr DRT 400 single tuner No HDMI
- Pioneer vsx818v av receiver HDMI
- RCA mm36110 hd ready tv No HDMI

It is my hope to upgrade the TV, For a CRT it has a nice picture, but if I can't get this working my wife will not be ready to take the next step.

Thank you all.

cable from wall -> splitter
splitter -> Tivo
splitter -> 6416 DVR.

Tivo S-video out -> TV
Tivo audio -> some input on Pioneer

6416 DVR component (Y/Pb/Pr, green/blue/red jacks) out -> TV
6416 digital audio (coax SPDIF, the orange RCA jack, or the Toslink) -> digital in on the Pioneer

Might want to consider getting a good universal remote, like a Logitech Harmony, to make switching easier.

Oops, I didn't realize your TV was so old that it doesn't accept HD via component. In that case you have to hunt down a component->VGA (or maybe DVI-D->VGA) transcoder and hook the DVR to the 2nd VGA input.

The cost of these may lead you to just buy a new TV.
