My video store released NATIONAL TREASURE three days early !!! (1 Viewer)

So I go into my local video store today to finally rent Finding Neverland and lo and behold there on the shelf was National Treasure!

It was rented out but this was an automatic buy for me so I picked one up; and yes I was able to rent Finding Neverland and Sideways.

The clerk said there had been an "early release." Anyone else see this out early?

without saying the name is it a known rental store or just a local area one.

It's not a national chain but it is a large chain here in Connecticut. It seems this hasn't occured anywhere else so I'm going to assume this was just a local event. Maybe my video store's chain needed to boost their weekend rentals or something . . .

I know the owner of a rental chain in my area and he releases new movies on weekends.I won't say the name because I don't want anyone to get in trouble.

I saw it like a week ago in a local supermarket... Full-screen only.

I've always wondered why that wasn't the norm anyway. Stores are just more crowded on the weekends and I bet a bulk of the sales for a particular disc happens in that time frame.

I saw it for sale Sun morning at my local (nat'l chain) pharmacy.

It creates in-store traffic on Tuesdays (an off days for retail).
