After 1 1/2 years of on again, off again work we have finally finished our little home theater. It is not nearly as elaborate as some we see here but thought some of you guys might like to take a look. Our little project proves that you don't have to hock your grave plot to enjoy your own theater. Hope you like what we've done. Since this won't let me include my link to where the photos are online with Yahoo, you'll have to contact me for the link. Sorry

I think you're allowed to post a link once you have 15 posts. Check and see if you can put your link in the "home theater page" of your profile. BTW I always like looking at new set-ups.[IMG]

Thanks DelRay for the idea of putting a link under my profile. I have done that, so if you'd like to see some photos from beginning to end you can find the address to the yahoo photos under my profile. I will eventually get around to building a web site but no time right now. I have taken close to 500 photos since we started.

It really has been worth all the effort but we probably wouldn't have said that when it was 1:00 am and we were framing walls or putting in light fixtures after working a 8-9 hour job in the workforce ! But coming from a movie loving family, I guess this was my destiny. My grand parents met when my g.father was a projectionist and my g.mother was a candy counter girl at the local movie house and my brother is GM for a local theater corporation that operates about 8 separate movie theaters (hired on in HS as a ticket taker and worked his way up over these past 30+ years). After retiring and moving to VA. my grandfather worked as a projectionist at a little drive in theater until he passed away, just for the love of movies. When we decided to build this theater we wanted more than all the electronics, sound systems and do-dahs, the entire "experience" of attending a movie. The decor is a major factor in the experience. Thanks for your postings and comments. Now, lay down that hammer, clean your paint brush, put away the wire strippers and go watch a GREAT movie !

It's actually not a popcorn machine, but rather a popcorn warmer. I think they were origionally made for nachos but it is just what we needed. I just dump it full of pre-popped popcorn and it keeps it nice and hot and fresh. We made our own personalized popcorn label on the computer using transparent window cling sheets and applied it to the glass. The light on the machine shines thru and shows up real nice. We may purchase a "real" popcorn machine down the road but we had this one and it serves the purpose for now.
