Hey Nice speakers, I think I have the same ones(Polk RT35i for the left and right and the Polk CS245i for the center). I still can't get over that controller, that thing is just nuts.

I finally got to to try the game out this weekend.
Is it just me or does the HUD take up 80% of
    the screen?

the earlier versions of vertical tanks do take up alot of your screen but wait til you see the 3rd generation vts, they move around 120 mph and dont take up hardly any of your screen.

That's the type of table I think I'd like to be using. Where'd you get it, if you don't mind my asking?

I keep my table jammed right up against the TV, with speakers on each side of me. It's a lot more immersive that way

I have a Leather chair with these really fat arms on it and can set the controller right on the chair over myself and it works out well without the need for a table.

I bought a similar look "table", in actuality a boot/shoe rack, from my local Walmart.
