My PS-2 wont work , only play PS-1 games (1 Viewer)

I received for a PS-2 for christmas and I got a couple of games. I loaded one of my games in to the console and after 5 minutes nothing happened but when I put in PS-1 game in worked? Has anybody have had this problem?

The DVD laser is probably toast. Try a DVD in there, and if it doesn't work there's your problem

yup......lol hope it wasnt used
