We had a power outage last night that reset everything. So, I went in today and got everything recalibrated w/VE and all other settings but this one.

The receiver shows the "A" and "B" speakers on and it shows "DVD:Stereo"; when I push the surround mode button on the remote, the display shows "Not available in Speaker B".

I know it's something small, but it's agravating, since I haven't had to do this in 3 years! (And it's MOVIE NIGHT TONIGHT!)

My Input Setup shows the following:
a. Digital Input:OPT 1
b. Digital Format: All
c. Multichannel: YES
d.Component Video: Input 1
e. Intellivolume: 0 db
f. Analog/PCM Source: Stereo
g. PCM fs 96 kHz Source: Stereo
h. Digital Format Source: Stereo

I have a feeling it's something in the last 3 steps, but I'm at a loss.

"Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!"

EDIT: I've found that if I turn the surround speakers ("Speaker B"), my receiver reads out "Dolby D:EX"!

Turn them back on and it reads STEREO.

Anyone know?

Hello William! The reason your system will not play in the surround mode is because you have the "speaker B" engaged. You have to disengage "speaker B" for your surround modes to work. The "speaker B" connection should only be for remote speakers in another room, or if you are listening to two sets of speakers in "stereo". Your surround speakers should not be hooked up to the "speaker B" terminals. Good luck! P.S. You may need to set your "multichannel" selector to "off" unless you are using your multichannel inputs.

Thanks, Kernel!
Like I said, I knew it was something small (most of the time it is w/me!), but I was too flustered and the ol' brain wasn't processing the information just right.:b

I appreciate the help.:emoji_thumbsup: :D :emoji_thumbsup:
