LAGQ (Los Angeles Guitar Quartet) from TELARC. Not only is the music performance top notch and beautiful, but also the use of all the channels in such clear details is simply AMAZING...I have yet to hear anything to give me so much pleasure in listening in 5.1 such as this SACD (Hybrid).

Note: If acoustic spanish/classical guitar with some percussion is not your musical taste, then you might want to listen to it before purchasing it.

    Music 4.5 out of 5
    Recording 5 out 5

I just read somewhere that it won an award as the "best multichannel recording of 2002"...I totally agree with the award committee on this one.

The title won "Best Surround Mix".

What it didn't win, was "Best of Show".

Best of Show, (which to me is higher than best surround mix) went to one of Mark Waldrep's discs on AIX Records, McCuen/Ibbotsen "Nitty Gritty Surround".

John, AIX is a great label and they produce top notch recordings. Fortunatly I'm also a DVD-A owner and I'm able to enjoy the benefits of both formats....But, in my opinion LAGQ should have taken it all.

    Anthony,

You're entitled to your opinion, but I happen to agree with the consensus.

And yes, I own both formats, and both discs in question.

Ah, hybrids. Now I can calmly purchase this title without having to worry about where I can play it.
This is what it's all about, folks. [IMG]
I will get this (though not now, as I just spent and obscene amount of money on e-bay and DVDEmpire...)
