on my old 27" Wega using the 16:9 squeeze, i thought this DVD just had bad EE. I watched this for the first time on my 38" 16:9 this weekend and found some REALLY weird artifacting on hard edges that was REALLY annoying, but the transfer didn't show the normal signs of EE. In fact, it was a great transfer if it wasn't for these weird "jaggies"...it looked like downconversion artifacts, something i definitely shouldn't be seeing with a progressive scan picture.

anyone have any info on what's going on with this dvd? take a look at any of the exterior shots of his house...the bricks on the side, the roof, the power lines...all look like BAD downconversion artifacts. this is caled Moire artifacting, right?

and so strikes another THX certified transfer [IMG]
i get the same as well. i think the technical term is moire. definitely noticed movement on the roof. unusual for a recent release, but as i mentioned before, THX which pretty much sums it up.
