My home theater system doesn't support mkv on usb (1 Viewer)

I had almost 12 yrs old sony home theater system dav-dz510 with this i want play a movie through usb for the better quality rather than rc cables but it doesn't support mkv and 1080p size...anybody have any suggestions to play a movie...

You may want to consider a new system. I know that is not what you want to hear, but those types of home theater systems were not made for upgrading g or adding on.
