I am having trouble. My computer was running just the tv speakers with 2k resolution 120hz and HDR. I have just received my Onkyo TX NR-6050 to hook up speakers and no sound is transmitting to my pc and I cannot set the picture to 120hz. The speakers all work wonderfully on the tv but switching to use it with my pc which is the real intended use it is not working properly? What have I possibly done wrong? I have already set the inputs to 8k enhance but still there is no 120hz option and Im trying at lower than 4k with HDR.

Ok I have gotten sound to work on Windows 10 through the PC HDMI with the receiver but I have not figured out how to get 120hz running. Is this receiver not capable when it claims to be?

What graphics card are you using? Does it support VRR and/or ALLM? Also does your HDMI output on the card support HDMI 2.1? Is the HDMI cable rated for 48GB/s?

Also, it looks like you must use hdmi input 5 to get 4K/120.

Edwin yes my computer was running VRR and 120hz not at 4k because it cant, but it can do it at 2560x1440 (2k) at 120hz with HDR it is a Nvidia 1060 6GB. My cable from my computer to pc is 8K ARISKEEN 15ft and it was working for that. I have had to add an extra 6ft 8K cable (same brand) for the out so the total is 21ft of cable THAT might be the problem. It looks like I can manage to hook up with a 3ft cable instead of 6ft for the out so Ive ordered one and am waiting for it to come in another day. Currently its only able to do 1080p 120hz with HDR.

With a shorter cable Im getting the same results heres whats happening.

What I want is 2160x1440 120Hz with HDR10
What Im getting is 60Hz

The computer is set to 2160x1440 in windows with HDR but only achieving 60Hz. Display info from the onkyo remote on the TV is saying output is 3840x2160 60Hz HDR

Also when I start the game I want to play something weird happens HDR turns on when iI'm just using Windows 120hz 1080p whereas it wont allow me to select HDR in Windows when its 120Hz but now it's working only in game, HDR stays enabled and I can set the resolution to 2k but it then drops to 60Hz. Upon exiting the game and returning to Windows, it drops the HDR. This is incredibly frustrating because I have a dim Windows picture and lack of color depth without HDR. Or I can vice versa go up to 2k resolution but not have 120hz only 60.
