The subject line says it all. I received an e-mail from Loyola University New Orleans instructing me to destroy the diploma they mailed me last week. I feel kind of dumb for not even noticing it, but a letter is missing from "honors, rights and privileges," making it "honors, right and privileges."

    How embarrassing!

^Generally, the "/" is used for a closing tag:

This kind of story about the diploma cracks me up. I love how universities have the audacity to take tens of thousands of dollars from you, then charge you $30 for the diploma. WHAT THE @#$^&()*@#$ HAVE YOU BEEN DOING WITH MY MONEY?!?!?!?!

Hmmmm, I've never had to pay for any of my certificates, except for the one proving I'd been admitted to the Singapore Bar (which in any case isn't necessary in practical terms), and the firm I was with at the time picked that up. Considering how obsessed this country is with paper qualifications, that's ironic.
