    Hello,

Well I programmed my macro keys on my new MX-500 and it seems I have a small problem..

My set(Sony KV-40XBR800) and Receiver(Denon 1802) do not always finish on their desired inputs.. ie[IMG] When watching a dvd the set will sometimes be on a differnet input..

Any ideas or suggestions on what I'm doing wrong..

    Thanks
    Keith

You need to get "discrete codes" in the macros so that the command is e.g. "jump specifically to video 3" rather than "cycle inputs twice", which doesn't work if you are in a different input than what you had in mind when designing the macro.

The easiest way to get these codes is to get a cheap OneForAll or Radio Shack remote that supports "advanced codes", and go to www.hifi-remote.com to get the Sony codes & instructions on how to enter them. Then use this remote to teach the MX-500.

The alternative is to have the macro always do a "channel down" or something that always jumps to TV mode and cycle a particular number of steps from there. This works, but it's slow.
