I bet this has been talked about a lot already but what five DVDs do you think are must owns?
    I would have to say:
    (in no particular order)
    1. Fight Club
    2. The Ultimate Toy Box (Toy Story 1&2)
    3. The Usual Suspects SE
    4. Saving Private Ryan
    5. Star Wars Episode 1
(Would have said the Matrix but needs a better DVD)

Any of your favorite films which have been transferred to DVD, as well.

Well, the HTF was recently polled - EXTENSIVELY - on this very subject, and so we don't repeat the whole process again, I'll list the results.

If you want to see the thread with the poll itself, it is here. Note that the poll was taken for publication in the premier issue of DVD ETC. magazine, which you see advertised here on HTF with a special deal for HTF members (2 years for the price of 1).

Since the magazine has been out for almost a couple of months now, and sold out in many places, and these poll results wouldn't be the main reason to buy the magazine anyway, I'm sure noone will be upset that I post this list.

The results of the poll were:
    1. [*]Toy Story/Toy Story 2 - The Ultimate Toy Box[*]Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace[*]The Matrix[*]Terminator 2: Judgement Day - Ultimate Edition[*]Fight Club - 2 Disc Edition[*]Saving Private Ryan - Special Limited Edition[*]Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - Platinum Edition[*]The Fifth Element (not the "Superbit Edition")[*]Shrek - 2 Disc Special Edition[*]Gladiator - Signature Selection[/list=1]

Two of my three votes ended up on that list. Since I'm heavily into the concept of TV-on-DVD, I wanted one of my votes to represent that product. I gave that vote to The Sopranos - Season 1, which I considered to be the best such product at the time. It was a super-close call between that one and Twin Peaks - Season 1.

In the end, Jack is right: buy things that YOU like. Don't worry about keeping up with the Joneses. [IMG]
