I think we all have a few favorite tunes we listen to when we are all alone and no one knows about it. One of my guilty pleasures is the theme song from Pee Wee's Playhouse, I have it on MP3 and blast it when nobody else is around. What is your guilty pleasures song or band?

    Peace,

    Eve

I have a lot of different types of music in my collection and usually only the top tier stuff (e.g., Miles Davis, no Kenny G). I guess my guilty pleasure stuff is mostly in the 'rock' line (although it's really more MOR pop). So in addition to Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Dylan, Costello, Railroad Jerk, etc., I do have some Partridge Family and Tony Orlando and Dawn.

Debbie Gibson, Wang Chung, Samantha Fox (we needed to embrace her new career move), and XDB666.

p.s. On dark and rainy nights, I sometimes find myself listening to Menudo, and dancing about the house naked.

Mozarts Requim. I hate Mozarts music, and I am very vocal about this to my friends (many of which are pianists andalways look at my with horror when i bad mouth mozart), but for some reason he really got the Requim right, and his Fugue in G minor (but I don't think there is even a recording of the Fugue out there though)

Actually, some of these artists would be considered guilty pleasures by some people. But, damnit, I love listening to all of 'em so they aren't guilty pleasures to me. Consider this post a non-guilty pleasure post!

    Elvis Presley

Cleavant Derricks (new, outstanding up-and-coming musical artist)

    Sarah McLachlan

    MeatLoaf

    The Righteous Brothers

    Roy Orbison

    Jewel

    The Platters

    Fleetwood Mac

    Sarah Vaughan

    Mel Torme`

    Tom Jones

    Ray Charles

    Cheryl Lynn

    Celine Dion

    Fats Domino

    Shania Twain

...and probably about a dozen others I've forgotten to list.

Everybody that knows me knows that my taste in music aren't typical so I don't get embarassed any more. Some of the highlights of my collection include DVDs for George Michael and Brittney Spears + mp3s including Ace of Bass, Bette Midler, Charlie Pride, and the gay bar theme from Police Academy.

Music I wouldn't "advertise" that I listen to include:

    Eve

    No Doubt

    Jay-Z

    Ice Cube

    :b

If you knew me, your eyes would bug out reading that, followed by a gasp that turned into a giggle.

My taste in music is in part directly related to when I was a DJ for four years. I absolutely hated 90% of the music I played, but if it got the room moving I did my job. Every once in a while I would find a gem that would stick out amongst the top 40 trash that I was forced to play.

Normally you'll find me listening to R.E.M., The Cure, The Smiths, New Order, Rollins Band, Black Flag, etc...
