Im no expert at all this audio stuff like you guys but I know a bit. I've installed stuff for myself and family but never a multi-room setup
What is required for a successful multi-room sound setup with a central home theater?
People who Im trying to help want it so that they ahve speakers in each room and only music plays and not movies
Id assume they also want some kind of shut off switch so if they dont want to hear music they dont have to

    Suggestions? Guidance?

A couple of suggestions from my "very limited" knowledge in this area:

    1) Look into the Niles multi-room systems. Not cheap, but should do the job.

    2) A cheaper solution might be to use an Harman/Kardon receiver that features the A-bus system. Using Cat-5 cables and A-Bus touch-pads, you might be able to pull off a multi-room setup.

Hopefully, others will also offer their input.
