I have Sony STR-DE1075 that I bought a few years back with the purpose of hooking up audio (from the CD player to a second room-basement).

Since installing everything the system seems fine. Now that the basement is ready to be wired, I can’t seem to understand how the “multi-room option works. When I connect a pair of speakers to the output I get a muted sound with no ability to control volume.

Anyone’s help or ideas would greatly be appreciated.

    More information please....

I seem to recall this is a 6.1 avr? So if your running 5.1 on it, you out of amp to power your zone.

It takes an external amp to power the 2nd zone, what amp are you using to power the 2nd zone/room?
