Would there really? Take a look at PC software, and you'll notice that it's about the same price as console software. One hardware platform, same price.
Actually, PC software is cheaper than console software, due to the fact that titles get discounted more quickly. Sure, the flops get discounted the quickest, but even some of great games flop. And even the hits are usually discounted within 6 months to a year, faster than a 'Greatest Hits' reissue will typically come out on a console.

New release prices are about the same, but fall quicker on the PC.
