I already have the RP-91 for DVD A and V but I really want SACD but need a mega changer to hold my disks.

Does anyone know if Sony will be coming out with a Multi SACD/CD megachanger (or any other manufacturer for that matter).

Thanks

None yet out and none scheduled as of CES 2002... we'll see at CES 2003

Harry, Luis summed it up. Sony has not announced any SACD-compatible megachangers this year (at CES or otherwise). The only megachanger that Sony has released this year is the non-SACD-compatible CDP-CX455. Everything else on the range was introduced last year ('CX450, 'M333ES, and 'M555ES). Hopefully Sony will produce some SACD megachangers next year.

I appreciate your responses. I may break down and buy a 5 disc changer but I would much much rather have the mega. I wish the Marantz 8300 werent so high or I would trade my RP 91 in on it and get a regular mega changer.

Harry, note that, unlike your 'RP91, the Marantz '8300 may show the chroma bug. The '8300 is based on the Pioneer Elite DV-47A, which shows the chroma bug. I am not saying that the '8300 is a poor video component, but the possibility of it showing the chroma bug should be considered before dropping $1500. In any event, consider the Sony SCD-C222ES for around $325-350 or 'C555ES for around $600 by mail if you want a quality carousel SACD/CD changer. If you can spend the $600, it would be worth it to step up to the 'C555ES in my opinion. The 'C555ES is a much better CD player than $600 typically gets you. It's a steal.

Maybe I will do just that.

By the way when it comes to switching the 5.1 inputs do the radio shack switcher(s) work well. I know I will have to get off my butt to change it but it seems like the simplest plan.

I just cant see spending $200 on the other one I have seen around here (unless you know something I dont).

Thanks again.

Harry, the Radio Shack switch boxes work very well for me. I commented about them recently in another thread that is floating around on this board. See my comments there. Yes, you do have to switch sources manually on the two switch boxes, but it's not a big deal for me because I don't switch sources every 30 seconds. :)
