I currently own a Yamaha RX-V3000. My previous receiver was a 2095, which to me, sounded s l i g h t l y different. I have not listened to the 3300, but have read how the newer models (mostly lower level ones) have undergone design changes. Is there a model cutoff point when "change" occured? Do they sound much different? Better, worse? Just curious...

The models from the last few years seem less bright to me.

Very rich midrange sound to it with great sparkle at the top .... compared to the rxv2095 receiver demoed side by side to the 3200 .... substantially less bright ........

coworker upgraded his 2095 to a 3200 ..... i may be getting the 3300 real soon. the 3300 is a different design amp-wise to the 3200 and 3000. The 3300 uses basically the same amp section as the rxv1 last years flagship.
