Signed. It's really pathetic that Disney and other companies "dumb down" movies for us Americans. Shaloin Soccer to Kung Fu Soccer. Plus not only that but not releasing movies like The Ring in the US only to have it remade before we can even see the original. [IMG]

It looks like the director of the movie DRIVE has even signed the petition.

I was very upset to see Drunken master 2's music and soundeffects redone. The music was one of the best ever done for a Jackie Chan film. it captured the spirit and the essence of what the film was about, instead we got yet another generic "kung fu" or what the stereotypical studio executive thinks kung fu music should be. The sound effects in the original was masterfully done. Every punch and kick was like music. The end fight scene with the "tap dance-like" fight completely lost the excitement and rythm when the US release version did not even put any of the tapping sound there, other than some silly swooshes. Very upsetting. If you don't understand the art of HK action film making, don't mess with it. Take it from some one who has made one. Thanks for listening.

It seems that a lot of people have read the msnbc article. It really makes Miramax look bad. They want to update or make the film easier to understand? I think people have been watching these movies for years and haven't had a problem.
