How do I hook my MP3 player up to my reciever, and get some kind of surround effect out of it? I'm using a Nomad Jukebox and would like to take advantage of it's surround capabilities. Thanks.
Depends on what kind of programming the MP3s are, Keith. If they are music, you typically don’t want to attempt any surround. Most music (except for movies) are not mixed with surround in mind; therefore any surround you get is random and unpredictable and often of questionable quality.
Keith, I believe the Nomad Jukebox can only output music in stereo. You can connect the Jukebox to a home system for playback in stereo easily enough. Maybe your home-theater receiver can reprocess the analog signals to surround sound, but I doubt it will sound good.
