Can you tell the difference in sound quality if a CD song is recorded in mp3 format at 320kbs?

According to this site, audiophiles can't tell, with all else (equipment) being equal.

As for the answer to the question, it very much depends on the equipment being used. I can tell the difference easily if I use VBR mp3s for most music. However, some music I cannot tell (some of the Skywalker Ranch Star Wars recordings sound stunning as a VBR mp3, but not all).
My Panny RP91 is unable to play stereo-encoded mp3s, so I'm forced to use joint-stereo, and there does seem to be a bit of artifacting at 256kbit. I'll blame the imperfect RP91 decoder.
