MP3 capabilities of the Toshiba dvd players (1 Viewer)

This is a silly question but one I feel I must ask just to make sure. MP3 output on the Toshiba players is done via the L/R analog outputs? Or is it somehow turned into a CD digital format and sent down the digital audio output?

Both. Analog (DVD's DAC is used) by the L/R stereo outputs AND Digital PCM (DVD player decodes the MP3 compression but leaves it in the digital domain) by optical or coax (receiver/preamp/DAC converts to analog)
