I need help trying to remember a female Mowtown group/artist. I rember a version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" from when I was younger, and it was by a Mowtown sounding group of women. I thought it was Diana Ross but I have listened to their version and it was not it. I also tried Gladys Night but don't think it was her either. Can someone name some other female Mowtown groups that sound similar to the Supremes because I can't think of who else it might be?

Mowtown is where I get all my grass mowing supplies.[IMG] Mo, mo, mo, Motown, let's see, Martha and the Vandellas. I'm not so sure I'm spellin' Vanellas wright though...? I wish my brain would spit another one out. I wonder if Motown has a site?[IMG]

    Henry's on the right track.

It sounds like you're thinking of Crystals' version of the song.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! It was the Crystals!

I spent so much time last night on Amazon searching different Christmas albums by many Mowtown groups, including The Crystals, and could not find it. The funny thing is, when Henry told me to check out Phil Spector's Christmas Album I went back to Amazon.com to see if that was it, and the very first item that came up on the page was this recommendation "A Christmas Gift for You From Phil Spector", because of all the Mowtown groups I clicked on last night...it appears to be the same album.

Are you sure it's not by a Stacks/Vault artist?

Not sure if this will help, but, try checking out www.gemm.com or www.alibris.com . Both are great sites for looking up music, books, etc.
