Manhattan Project. One of my favorite movies as a kid.
I bought the BD a while back, and it was awful. I'm not sure why I thought it was so great in the first place, as I saw nothing in it that was remotely charming. Weird how taste can change so drastically with age.
Good one. I watched this on one of my movie stations recently, and it was hard to take- the breaking into the lab took WAY too long, and Collet’s character comes across as a jerk. The only good part of the film is the scene where Lithgow is trying to shut down the bomb.
Great line from Mahoney’s character-
“Do you mean to tell me I’m gonna die because some asshole didn’t have pliers?”

This Is Spinal Tap. I saw it when it was still a fairly new film when I was in my early 20s. Didn’t care for it then- I didn’t get the humor in the dialog at the time. I watched it again a dozen or so years later, and it all clicked. An amazing film of improvisation
(Reiner claims in the Criterion commentary that McKean, Guest and Shearer had a general idea about what the individual scenes had to say, and they just came up with lines to make it work).
