"Emperor of the North" with Lee Marvin and Ernest Borgnine was released by CBS/FOX on LD in Japan with subtitles, and also got a PAL LaserVision release in England! LDDb lists both at 4:3, though. :frowning:

Four words: The Pirates of Penzance

Wake up, Universal. Spare us a quadruple dip on American Pie (or whatever number we're now up to for that movie) and give us Kevin Kline's Pirate King!

You know, it still amazes me that this
film is not out.

We also keep forgetting to ask Warner
Brothers about it during our chats.

That still wasn't released on laserdisc, since every LD version of the first film has the EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE addition to the opening title crawl, and as we know the ORIGINAL theatrical release of STAR WARS had no such chapter title on the opening crawl :D

But I guess you're right about THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI at least.

Class Act: 1992 ~ with Kid & Play. Oh Warner Brothers, why will you not bless my DVD with this terrifically unbrilliant but funny urban comedy of two high school youths caught in their years of troubling adolescence!!!

PS - Paully Shore has a cameo.

PSS - I saw Freebie and the Bean on LD recently and agree it needs a DVD release.

PSSS - Why oh why did Major Little League get a widescreen Laserdisc release but a butchered DVD release?

PSSSS - I just realized I have been on this site for 6.5 years and I have like 22 posts.
