Film cinematographers and directors love to repeat Hollywood "insider" shots, techniques, script shortcuts and "the way it's been done before."
Ever notice that in night shots, the streets are ALWAYS wet down even when it's not raining?
Here's a fun compilation of movie cliches that'll kill some time.

One of my favorite irksome cliches, not mentioned in the list, is ventilation ducts. People always seem to be crawling around inside them. Has this ever happened in real life? Can a heating duct even support the weight of a human being inside?

Speaking of ventilation ducts, why do you always see those large ventilation fans slowly turning whilst brightly illuminated from behind? Man, that fan speed wouldn't suck a fly out of the room least of all the smoke which always seems to be in the room at the time! :D
