I just saw Swordfish. Which made me realize that I really enjoy 2 things:

1: seeing Hale Berry naked and

2: movies about people/groups who are "above the law". You know the guys that are so secret that our government doesn't even know about them.

Can anyone recommend any movies about secret groups/people?

It seems like you're looking more for super-villian or star chamber like stuff (hey, how about "The Star Chamber"?), but if you suddenly find yourself really into secret society type things (like the Knights of the Templar, the Rosicrucians, cabalists of all stripes), then put on your reading glasses and pick up Foucalt's Pendulum by Umberto Eco (the author of "The Name of the Rose" upon which the movie was based).

Also, check out "The Parallax View". It's on DVD, and here's a review: http://www.dvdtalk.com/dvdsavant/s153parallax.html

Of course, there is always the Skulls. A fine piece of filmmaking (or a steaming pile of horsesh*t, take your pick).

The Net starring Sandra Bulloch. A fine piece of Apple advertising. [IMG]
Conspiracy Theory with Mel Gibson. Make certain you don't live on a fault line when the Shuttle is passing overhead.
Could religeous films like Stigmata count here as well?

For #1, try Monster's Ball if you haven't already [IMG]
For #2, the secret society IS the government, but Enemy of the State?

Check out 'the lords of discipline' a movie starring David Keith from 1983. It deals with a secret society at a very well respected southern military academy.

There's always X-Files, the series and the movie.
But then, maybe I just like looking at David Duchovney [IMG]

Thanks all for your input! (I hate when I post a thread and then go on a weeks vacation)

I liked Swordfish mostly, I liked the idea...

that there is a ultra rich, ultra powerful guy, performing ultra crime (and thwarting terrorism) who moves among the general public.

If you haven't seen it, try From Hell. I don't want to say too much though because that'd possibly ruin a couple turns and twists. There's also this movie called the Matrix...a summer sleeper from a few years ago.
